Principal preparation program accreditation or approval standards 
Vermont's Program Approval Standards include content, knowledge, pedagogy, and professional dispositions; system of assessment; field experiences; and resources and experiences.
Description of program approval review process 
The Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators is responsible for reviewing and approving preparation programs. For approval, programs submit a web-based "Institutional Portfolio" to demonstrate evidence on indicators for each program approval standard. Possible sources of evidence include: course syllabi, candidate work samples, curricular maps, summative assessment data from program or internship, and data from employer survey. On-site visits and interviews with faculty are conducted to confirm evidence met standards.
