Principal preparation program accreditation or approval standards 
Utah's standards for program approval include: prepare candidates to meet educational leadership standards; admission requirements; coursework; and clinical experience.

Utah is currently participating in the framework development process with the new national accrediting body, Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). It is anticipated that version 1.0 will posted in January 2018. Until then, Utah is currently developing a state-specific program approval review process.
