Description of evaluation system 
OPES includes two components each weighted at 50%: principal performance rating, which includes a professional growth plan, two 30-minute observations, and walkthroughs; and a student academic growth rating, which can include growth measures such as value-added, vendor assessments, or locally determined measures including student learning objectives.

Principal preparation program accreditation or approval standards 
Ohio has an agreement with CAEP and its standards include: Content and Pedagogical Knowledge; Clinical Partnerships and Practice; Candidate Quality, Recruitment, and Selectivity; Program Impact; and Provider Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement.
Description of program approval review process 
The Ohio Board of Regents conducts program reviews for the purposes of CAEP accreditation. Programs seeking CAEP accreditation must submit a self-study for formative feedback through off-site review, survey stakeholders, and host a site visit. The Ohio Board of Regents collects data and their final reports include: Licensure Test Pass Rates, Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) Results of Program Graduates, Value-added Data (EVAAS), Candidate Academic Measures Considered for Program Admission, Field/Clinical Experiences, Resident Educator Survey Results, Principal Intern Survey Results, Principal Mentor Survey Results, Employer Survey Results, Resident Educator Persistence Data, Excellence and Innovation Initiatives, and National Accreditation.
