Description of evaluation system 
Minnesota's state model of principal evaluation includes a self-assessment; goal setting; collection of evidence for each performance measure that can include observations of principal's practice or stakeholder feedback (e.g., surveys); and longitudinal student growth data that comprises 35% of the evaluation. Minnesota let's districts determine how they will combine measures to determine the final score. Districts can use the state model or any other principal evaluation system that meets the requirements of statute.

Description of program approval review process 
The Minnesota Board of School Administrators approves institutions for principal preparation. Each institution seeking approval submits a description of the organization structure, field-based experiences, assessments, evaluation of licensure program, and the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that will be achieved by completers. Program auditors will conduct on-site visits to confirm the accuracy of the program description and make a written report.
