The Kansas Educator Evaluation Protocol (KEEP)
Description of evaluation system 
The four Kansas building leader instructional practices constructs are: Setting Direction, Developing the Learner, Developing Staff, and Making the Organization Work. Principals gather evidence and artifacts for each contruct such as focus groups, surveys, staff meeting agendas, school improvement plan, or assessment data.
Frequency of performance evaluation 
The timeline for evaluations is based on years of experience as follows: Years 1 and 2: at least once per semester; Years 3 and 4: at least one time per year, and thereafter: at least once every 3 years.
Intended use of performance evaluation 
The Kansas Educator Evaluation Protocol (KEEP) is used to assess educator effectiveness and to provide formative feedback to improve performance and contribute to student achievement.

Kansas adopted the CAEP standards which include: Content and Pedagogical Knowledge; Clinical Partnerships and Practice; Candidate Quality, Recruitment, and Selectivity; Program Impact; Provider Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

Programs make seek a joint CAEP and Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) accreditation or a KSDE stand-alone accreditation. Requires in-person visits and document review and collection of evidence that candidates meet each standard.
