RISE Evaluation and Development System
Description of evaluation system 
The Indiana Department of Education has developed an optional evaluation system named RISE. Any model used for evaluation must be annual, focus on student growth and achievement, and include four rating categories. The Department provides a list of allowable modifications to the RISE system. The two major components of RISE are Professional Practice and Student Learning, which are based on the competencies set forth in the Indiana Principal Effectiveness Rubric.

Principal preparation program accreditation or approval standards 
All preparation programs in Indiana must meet CAEP standards which include: Content and Pedagogical Knowledge; Clinical Partnerships and Practice; Candidate Quality, Recruitment, and Selectivity; Program Impact; Provider Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Description of program approval review process 
The Accreditation Review Team includes members appointed by CAEP and the state. The team conducts a 2- to 3-day site visit to review evidence, verify data, and examine artifacts such as lesson plans, work samples, and videos. During the visit, the team interviews faculty, candidates, students, and other stakeholders. Programs must demonstrate with evidence that they meet all CAEP standards.
