Idaho requires that local principal evaluations include an assessment of professional practice for 67% of the total evaluation and measures of student achievement for at least 33% of the total. The assessment of professional practice must include portfolios or input from teachers, students, or parents. The assessment of student achievement must include growth in student achievement as measured by the Idaho state assessment.

Idaho maintains a partnership with CAEP to conduct concurrent on-site accreditation reviews along with state program approvals.
