Description of evaluation system 
The principal evaluation is based on 50% of the instructional leadership component which includes collecting evidence and artifacts on each of the standards, 33% based on the student academic progress including AIMS data for at least one measure, and 17% on surveys of students, parents, and teachers.

Description of program approval review process 
Institutions submit an institutional profile, a description of their conceptual framework and how it is shared with stakeholders, and data related to staff qualifications, experience, and roles. After that preliminary review, the Department reviews the specific programs including minimum criteria for student entry, the course sequence, field experience and capstone requirements, the assessment plan, and the internal monitoring and evaluation plan. Programs seeking CAEP accreditation must submit a self-study for formative feedback through off-site review, survey stakeholders, and host a site visit.
